StarTime Coaches
StarTime Coaches are experienced industry professionals with a passion for coaching and mentoring young people in the performing arts in a safe and supportive environment.
Each StarTiime Coach is hand-picked for their specific skill set. They know what it is like to be on stage, or in front of a camera, that amazing mix of fear and excitement, and how to channel these feelings into a great performance.
All our coaches have passed the New South Wales Government's working with children check.

Lindsay Moss Lindsay’s career has spanned almost 15 years in the entertainment industry as a director, producer, actor and tutor. In 1995 he worked on Heartbreak High as an Assistant Director and later produced and directed documentaries for channel 9, corporate videos and TVC’s. In 2001 he graduated from Actors Centre Australia (Adv.Dip. Acting). Lindsay has had roles on Home & Away, All Saints and in The Postcard Bandit and last year starred in the feature film “Mortal Fools.” As a teacher he worked with Acting Up at Fox studios and developed workshops for Brightstars. With his years of experience on both sides of the camera, he has become an industry expert in developing camera acting technique’s for young people. He formed StarTime Studios in 2006. StarTime is fast becoming Sydney’s leader in Active After School drama programs and film making with young people.

Simon Freestone Simon Freestone has spent his life immersed in the fields of education and the performing arts. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Newcastle, has trained with the prestigious Ecole Philippe Gaulier in London and is a Graduate of The Actors Centre (The Journey). For the past 20 years he has worked as an actor and a professional clown and has taught Drama, clowning and English to children across Australia, Europe and South America for various schools including ATYP and Kids Up Front. Simon is passionate teacher with the rare skill of combining learning with creativity and humor which is why he is one of StarTime’s most popular Coaches. Simon also teaches drama and English as a foreign language at adult learning centres and is currently studying film.

Yolanda Thomas Yolanda Thomas is our very own rock & pop star. She recently got down to the final 4 in the world wide “Search for a rockstar” Her latest album – “Lock Up Your Sons” has made a splash on the music scene with many Industry people taking note. Molly Meldrum noted of her title song “That is a good song, that is a very good song”. Yolanda regularly performs at Sydney’s best know music venues including “The Basement” and “Metro” on George Street. She also teaches adults and children alike at Sydney Dance company. Yolanda has brought her raw passion and infinite creativity to our StarTime workshops for the last 2 years. She is a constant source of inspiration and support for all our StarTime kids and we are very blessed to have her on board. |

Kim Taylor Kim is a graduate of NIDA Singer, Actor, Dancer 2001. In 2002, Kim co-founded PUSH UP THEATRE to produce and perform in the sell-out productions of hit comedy THE WESTIE MONOLOGUES, (Sydney Fringe Festival, Downstairs Belvoir St Theatre and Parramatta Riverside Theatre) followed by SPUNKS (SBW Stables Theatre). Kim was a special guest performer at THE BIG LAUGH COMEDY FESTIVAL GALA OPENING - Parramatta Riverside Theatre and was a Semi-Finalist in the RAW COMEDY competition 2002. Theatre productions include THE VANISHING ACT, directed by Mel Hogan, (NIDA Director’s Projects); Stephen Sewell’s BIRDS (Olympic Arts Festival – The Studio, Sydney Opera House) directed by David Berthold, SPEW by Melita Rowston, (Darlinghurst Theatre Company’s ‘In the Raw Festival’), TAMING OF THE SHREW and RUMPELSTILSTKIN (Marian Street Theatre) and the lead role of ‘Chuckie’ in the Australian tour of RUGRATS, LIVE IN DIAPERS. Kim also enjoyed playing ‘Mole’ for the Australian Shakespeare Company in 3 seasons of WIND IN THE WILLOWS. She has performed in short films for TROPFEST and CANNES; in various television/radio advertisements as well as starring in a number of projects for FOXTEL/TV1 including the series WINTER WONDERLAND. Kim appears in the feature film FAT PIZZA and the Bollywood feature NALA DAMAYANTHI. She has produced numerous plays in Sydney and wrote and performed her own play HAIR for the Short n Sweet Festival 2008 after co-producing and performing in BEE (Darlinghurst Theatre Company). Kim also does voice-overs for ABC Television and is currently developing a comedy TV Pilot.

Simone Dee Simone has been blessed to travel nationally and internationally, as a vocalist in; Musical Theatre, Television, Live performances, and Studio work. She has worked beside some amazing talent including: Anastassia, Stevie Wonder, Shirley Maclean, Glenn Shorrock, Marcia Hines, Jimmy Barnes, and Paul Mac. After working with Glenn Shorrock in “One for the Money” and “Two for the show” a musical based on Glenns’ Life, Simone joined the New York cast of “Beehive” – the musical, a story of the woman’s movement and music, through the 60’s. In the 90’s Simone was flown to London to join Australian Girl Group – “The Fabulous Singlettes” where 3 successful west-end seasons, hit of the “Edinburgh Festival”, and there own mini-series on the BBC – London. Later incorporated with touring, and television appearances throughout the UK and Europe, this ended up keeping Simone abroad for 3 years. On returning to Australia, Simone became a regular vocalist on “Burt Newtons’”-“Good Morning Australia” for 7 years, and then a vocalist in the original “Good News Week” TV show for 2 years, where she met up with Paul Mac, and the recording of his 1st 2 albums, followed by touring nationally for 2 years to promote the albums at Campuses, and to Stadium audiences. In 2003 Simone decided to return to London for another 5 years, where she got to perform alongside artists such as : Incognito, Roachford and Boney M, she was asked to perform at the Queens Gala Ball in Cairo – Egypt, open the Football grandfinal @ Wigan Stadium, and given prestigious residencies at “Quaglino’s Restauant” and the “606 Club – Chelsea” As well as corporate events for clients such as “Royal Bank of Scotland”, “Jamie Oliver” and “UPS internatonal Couriers”. Simone has returned recently to Sydney to continue working live as a performer/session singer, and has opened her own “Singing School/Recording Studio”. Working regularly with “Startime”on all their holiday workshops, and Saturday classes, teaching vocal technique, Musical theatre/Contemporary vocal.

Annaliese Szota Annaliese Szota is a bundle of energy and creativity. She is simply a great teacher and again has that special connection with young people that inspires them to be their best. From a young age she excelled as a performer, being selected for “On Stage” in her HSC year. She has since worked in musical theatre, dance and acting both here and overseas. Annaliese toured her original ensemble show Zugzwang to the International theatre festival held in Hanoi, Vietnam 2006. She has taught singing and dance around Sydney for the past 4 years. She splits her time teaching for StarTime in our weekly workshops and working as a performer at Luna Park. |

Josephine Ison A graduate from NIDA’s ‘The Singer Dancer Actor’, Josephine can currently be seen performing professionally in live stage shows for THE WIGGLES production company and is also currently employed as a voice artist for ‘Dorothy the Dinosaur.’ She is also soon to appearing in the the first television series of ‘The Kingdom of Paramithi’ (from the creators of The Wiggles) as ‘Princess Felicity’. Her Musical Theatre credits include several lead roles such as Belle in BEAUTY & THE BEAST, Diana Morales in A CHORUS LINE, Marcy Park in THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, as well as Mimi in RENT. Josephine also has had a significant amount of dance experience having studied at Brent Street and Newtown High School of Performing Arts. Josephine has taught various dance styles including Broadway Jazz, Funk, Hiphop, Tap, Classical Ballet and Contemoprary dance.

Lieschen Pogue Lieschen graduated in 2006 from Actors Centre Australia under the direction of Dean Carey. Her professional credits include; Jessica in Home and Away (2006), Rosalind in ‘As you Like it’ and Anne Page in The Merry Wives of Windsor (2007) with Shakespeare By The Sea and Kate in Carmens Kiss (2007) Albion Films Feature. Whilst at the Actors Centre she performed in ‘Secret Bridesmaids Business’, ‘The Crucible’, ‘A Midsummer’s Night Dream’ and ‘A Street Car Named Desire’ as Blanche DuBois – directed by Gale Edwards. Previously, Lieschen completed a BA at UNSW and finished her final year in London at Middlesex University. Whilst in London she played Andromache in ‘Woman of Troy’ and choreographed a musical, ‘Colours’ directed by Nik Hayley.

Marika Aubrey Marika Aubrey is a graduate of Theatre Nepean. As an actress she has worked in all facets of the industry over the past 6 years. She has also worked as a children’s drama and music coach with Mountains Youth Theatre, Australian Theatre for Young People, Dramascene, and Monkey Baa Theatre for Young People across many disciplines - musical theatre, accents and dialects, improvisation, puppetry, storytelling and acting for stage and screen. Whilst visiting Korea in 2006, Marika became the first teacher of popular USA program ‘Music Together’ (0-6 yrs), leading small children and their carers in an extensive music program. She is currently a teacher of the ‘1-2-3 Sing With Me’ program across Northern Sydney. Last year Marika toured and performed 3 productions with Kookaburra: The National Musical Theatre Company, two of which were for children. The Emperor’s New Clothes - a musical fable for primary school age children and Songs for a New World for a high school audience. |
