StarTime Studios is a performing arts school committed to inspiring and nurturing creativity, curiosity, imagination and communication in kids and young people.
At the heart of StarTime is the belief that all kids are unique and special, and the performing arts is a magical way to tap into individual talents, stories, expression and ultimately enhance confidence in these areas.

School Holiday Workshops for 6-13 year olds
At StarTime Studios we know that parents want choices so we've developed a series of 3, 4 and 5 day school holiday workshops in various locations that are guaranteed to keep young minds and bodies busy, inspired and delighted during the holidays.
Our School Holiday Workshops are All-Round Performing Arts Workshops that include: Acting, Hip Hop/Funk Dancing, Acting for Camera, Pop Performance, Talent quests and much more. They provide kids with the experience for collaborating on and performing in a professional show that is presented to parents and guests on the last day of the workshop.
Our School Holiday Workshops are underpinned by low student/coach ratio's and a carefully designed timetable to deliver maximum fun and learning within specific age groups. The combination of games, collaboration, rehearsal and performance, all contribute to keeping the kids engaged and feeling part of the group!

Spectacular / Extravaganza Workshops for 6-13 year olds
Experience the world of Hollywood these holidays. Imagine the thrill and excitement of performing in front of a live audience - on the main stage, under glittering lights with microphones and big music and seeing yourself on the bigscreen! Spectacular / Extravaganza 2 Day Special for 6-13 year olds
This 2 day special is designed to give you a taste of what it takes to act in your own short film, be a world class hip hop dancer and captivate your audience as a pop performer, and most importantly to help you build confidence in all areas of performance. We provide you with a safe and supportive space to learn how to deliver a great Thank You speech and display your talents in our lunchtime StarQuest. Then experience our Hollywood style fashion parade event on the second day and walk the red carpet in your latest fashion creations. Ages 6-8, 9-10, 11-13yrs.

StarTime Harry Potter Film & Special Effects Workshop for 7-13 year olds
Imagine yourself in the magical world of Harry Potter - wand fights with Valdemort, flying through the air on your broomstick and making potions in Professor Snape's class! In this premier StarTime workshop students will act with green screen technology and together with professional film-makers, re-create scenes and special effects from the Harry Potter franchise. Family and friends are invited along on the last day to watch a live performance, combined with the special effects scenes on the big screen. A dvd of the scenes will be availabe for purchase. Kambala's Got "MORE" Talent Workshop 6-13 year olds
Fresh from the inaugural "Search for a Star" competition, StarTime is holding it's exciting "Kambala's Got MORE Talent" workshop at Kambala in January. Let StarTime's professional singers and dancers inspire you and take your pop singing and hip hop skills to the next level. This workshop will be unforgettable and inspiring for all! SparkleTime Workshops for 3-5 year olds
This is where it all starts. It's never too early for your child to shine in the performing arts. Our 3-5 year old workshops are designed to do just that.
Children work with favourite nursery rhymes and fables, mixed with modern music to create their own take on traditional stories. Our coaches guide them through adventures, acting out characters and creating the world around them.
They make their own fantastic costumes and props from craft materials provided, play dress ups to inspire their unique characters and learn how to use their vocal range for different voices, enhancing their storytelling and expression. As well as loads fun, the dancing and drama games help build their confidence.

StarTime TV Workshops for 10-15 year olds
This is where "The Actor" comes out to play! StarTime TV covers almost every aspect of performing for the camera. From working with drama scripts, real TV shows, to presenting your own reality, sports or lifestyle show. This workshop allows you to experience the fun and excitement of working on a TV set. We'll have lights, cameras, microphones and a live studio audience for you to test out your skills. You'll work with Industry professionals who have directed network television and view your work back on our very own big screen. We'll also analyse TV shows and learn the secrets of how they do it. All participants will have the opportunity to purchase their work on DVD, which could be a great start to a show reel when searching for work in the industry.

StarTime TV & Cooking Workshops for 8-13 year olds
For all those keen young chefs out there, this workshop sets the challenge to create your own TV Cooking Show. Throw in a vibrant cook, a dynamic TV acting coach, mixed with fresh budding talent from 10-16 years old and you have the ingredients for a seriously fun and exciting workshop. Our young chefs will not only enjoy the food they make, but will also put on a 3 course banquet for family and friends to enjoy on the last day. They will be involved in dressing the table, making the menus and serving and entertaining their guests as waiters.
StarTime's TV acting coach will guide our young chefs through the process of making a TV Cooking Show. Working in a mini TV Studio, participants will learn how to present to camera with confidence, explore their creative expression and discover their on screen personality - whether that be the laid back and casual style or the more fiery displays of passion. Filmed and edited onto DVD, the young StarTime chefs will then have the opportunity to share their creative learning's with family and friends at home.

StarTime Hip Hop and Video Workshops
Ever wanted to be in your own dance video? Think Beyonce, Step Up and Justice Crew! Combined with green screen technology, slow motion capture and a variety of groovy effects this dynamic workshop will make you the star of your own dance video clip and bring your personality to the big screen! Students will experience the creative process of learning hip hop choreography through to filming their dance scene by scene.
The workshop is divided into two stages:
Stage 1 includes learning the latest hip hop choreography and how to interpret the song and create dance sequences to compliment the story.
Stage 2 involves filming each dance sequence in front of a green screen and in the surrounding locations by professional video director Richard Lovegrove. Students will learn what goes on behind the scenes of a film set and will collaborate as a group in the production of their video, such as choosing their wardrobe, props and film locations.
At the end of term parents and friends will be invited to the launch of the students first dance video clip, to be viewed on the big screen. DVD's will be on sale as a priceless memory for years to come.

After School Classes – StarTime Drama Development Program
Our integrated three stage Drama Development Program is designed to realise your child's creative potential, boost their confidence and self esteem and increase their chances of getting work as an actor or performer - all in a fun and supportive group environment.
Modules include everything from Story Telling to Physical Awareness, Improvisation and Camera Work. All groups work towards a presentation for family and friends at the end of term.

After School Classes - StarTime Acting for Camera
These classes provide a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of acting for camera, including:
• Physical awareness
• Angles, shot sizes and frames
• From script to screen
• Taking direction
• Character development
• Creativity on camera
• On-camera confidence
• Vocal training
While these are skills specifically for those training for an on-screen career, they also increase overall confidence in budding actors and are part of the essential skills that every actor must master. All our courses are divided into age specific groups and are taught by coaches who are working industry professionals with many years of on-camera experience.
Our 8-week courses include the creation of a Screen Shots Daily Video Diary, so kids can watch how they are developing on their own screen at home.

StarTime Acting Academy (by invitation only)
Students will work more intimately with the camera and scripts. They will learn industry techniques and be exposed more frequently to casting directors and producers. We will workshop ideas with a view to creating story's and short films.

DVD's
For most 4 and 5 day School Holiday Workshops, StarTime Studios creates a DVD of all the kid’s film work. Parents then have the option to buy a copy of the workshop DVD that includes a music montage of the workshop and a recording of the final day’s performance. The DVD's are sold for $39 (includes $4 postage & handling charge) and can be ordered at the end of the workshop. The DVD is then posted out to you within 2-3 weeks of the workshop.
